What's your favorite Major League Baseball movie of all time. I'll make a case for Rookie of the Year because of its comedy, but Field of Dreams was also a great flick (and just a smidgens more dramatic).

The Natural is a wonderful story about perseverance. I just think that there is too much about love involved with the story. Many people would pick Bull Durham as a classic movie over [I]The Natural.[/I But that may be because it has been around for a longer time.

I gotta go with Major League, too, with Field of Dreams in second. Love them both, but FOD is a little less impressive as a story, I think, if only because it's as much about emotions and the supernatural as it is about baseball.

I liked angels in the outfield...that was a good movie...and I liked a league of their own (you can definitely tell that I'm a girl hahaha).

I like Field of Dreams, although it's really not about baseball as much as it is about the supernatural. You don't really ever see a baseball game played, except when the team of ghosts come out to play each other near the end. :D The Natural is more of a fairy-tale than a "true account" of a baseball hero to me, although some claim it's still the greatest of them all. If you like a little controversy with your baseball, you can't beat 'Eight Men Out', the true story of the Chicago 'Black Sox' of 1919, who decided to throw the World Series.

For some historical movies, check out "Bingo Long and the Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings", the true story of the first African American leagues, or "A League of their Own", about the women's baseball leagues during the time of World War 2.

For documentaries, make SURE you get a copy of Ken Burns' 'Baseball', from 1994. It is a masterpiece of the history of baseball you really don't want to miss. :)

I love love love The Natural, however that could be more because of my love for Robert Redford than for it's baseball content. I liked Major League and Field of Dreams too. Both are classics.

I also really loved the movie Fever Pitch, I know it had a romantic angle to it but I thought it was absolutely hilarious.

Good question. I say the classic movie, "Pride of the Yankees" and "Bull Durham."
