Anybody play fantasy baseball. If so, who do you have/want on your team? I played in a lineup draft and needed to do a lot of trading to make my team acceptable. I have a lot of sleepers: Joba Chamberlain, Fransisco Liriano, and Clay Bucholtz, but not very many sure things.

I am in a NL only salary cap bid 5x5 league. ( catches breath after that mouthful).

We get to draft minor league players. I have corey patterson.

we should create a league here?

What are the rules for an NL only salary cap bid 5X5 league? I agree that we could set up a fantasy league for this forum. We need to do it quickly though and then decide what type of league we are going to do.

you get measured in 5 hitting and 5 pitching categories.... it varies league to league, but here is the one I am in:

avg
runs
rbis
hr
steals

and

era
whip (innings/(hits+walks)
strikeouts
wins
saves

Then do those stats counts towards points as a whole? Or do they work for one against another team. Is it head to head or is it total points for the whole year with a running total?

I've been playing Fantasy Baseball for around a decade. I prefer head-to-head leagues when possible. Just had a draft last week, actually. Pretty happy with my team. :)

The big thing for me with any league is getting people who are interested. I find it's no fun without at least a dozen teams, too, or else there's no effort involved in fielding a good (pretend) ball club. My league is 16 teams, which ensures that every owner has to follow things and scrounge around to do well. It also has a small fee ($10 a year)...which is small enough not to feel, but just enough so that everyone takes it a bit more seriously. It's a nice balance. :)

i too have never played it and looked for it on internet.Wikipedia says Fantasy baseball is a game whereby players manage imaginary baseball teams based on the real-life performance of baseball players, and compete against one another using those players' statistics to score points.

I really don't understand how fantasy baseball or fantasy football or any of those fantasy games work. Can someone please explain it? I know so many of my friends are really getting into it.

How 'bout a FOOTBALL league here?

I'm in for that, I'm in 1 baseball league, but I'm really not into it that much, of course I'm playing the team to my fullest, and I am in 1st place in my division (on CBS sportline) at 6-2, but it's just not football, and I just don't care for it that much.
