Hi,

Who would agree that Poker is a sport?

Then if Poker is a sport, does that mean all card games are or can be a sport ?
How about casino games in general.
I think it's an interesting discussion.

you might think of this as a sport but many would not agree.I think it is a sport more popular than anything.almost everyone can/knows and playes poker.The bad thing is that there aren`t tournaments where you could win money without putting your savings at stake.

I can’t call it as a sport because you wouldn’t sweat at all while playing it. It is just gambling, what can call something that always involves betting of money. I can’t figure it out why someone is calling this a sport.

I don't think that you can define sports only as things you sweat during. Heck, some people sweat very little. If you play football in the snow, and you're a place kicker, you probably won't sweat at all. Are you still playing a sport? People can sweat sitting completely still, too.

Now, personally, I wouldn't call poker a sport either, but I don't think sports can be so easily defined. I have no problem with it being lumped together with sports because of their shared nature of competition.

1) I sweat while I play poker. I'm so nervous about losing my money after all. 2) If poker is a card game then card games are sports. If card games are sports, then Old Maid is a sport. If Old Maid is a sport, then I will probably be world champion before too long.

I won't categorize Poker as any form of sport.It is sheer a game of cards played for the sake of gambling.

well i feel that anything which amuses you is a game and poker can be considered as an interesting indoor game.
