I think Lebron is the best player in the NBA.. haven't seen anyone bring up a team like he did. Surely is an amazing player.

Michael Jordan has my vote as well. Hard for me to imagine anyone being able to take his place.

MJ is the best, but kobe has passed his level skill wise. No one won like MJ tho. He had a will to win.

I’m voting for Lebron James. I think that he is the Michael Jordan of present. He far better than Kobe or any player, but I guess that he needs to be in a great team for him to win a championship.

You forgot to add poll to your discussion!

I don't think there's such a thing as the "next Michael Jordan." He has no equal in the sport. He was an is an other-worldly combination of talent, determination, and competitiveness.

That said, I think LeBron is the best player in the NBA, but even though I strongly dislike Kobe, I have to admit that he's right there with him. He can still take over a game.

Evergreen choice is michael jordan. But if you want to know about the present then Vince is the best choice.

Vince Carter? Really? I dunno about that. Maybe when he's awake. :D Which is about half the time.

Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time. I don' think anyone can question that. I think that this question wants to know who the greatest is right now. That should leave you with two choices: Kobe or Lebron. When it comes down to these two, you really can take your pick. They are both incredible.

(They're also both on my fantasy team.) :)

Hart to argue with jordan's skill set...... but magic was incredible too...

I agree about Kobe versus Lebron.

I can’t think of anyone better than Michael Jordan. Who could do what he has done? I don’t want to argue anymore if you guys think that no one can be compared to him.

BTW, this thread forgot something. You have forgotten to put a poll here for the greatest present player.

Another reason Michael Jordan was the greatest: He once dunked from half court!!! (Space Jam anyone?).Also I think we need to make sure and clarify that Jordan was the best basketball player of all time. I'm not sure that he was the best minor baseball player by a long shot (Birmingham Barons anyone?) Finally, while I'm at it I'll name him best athlete endorsing products (Nike, McDonalds, or Hanes anyone?)

kobes skill set is greater than jordans IMO.

You can’t compare him to Michael Jordan because Michael is a great team player and also a great leader. Kobe on the other hand just likes to show off his moves. He doesn’t have the making of a great leader.

Why the difference in attitude? I think it is correlated to the following fact. Jordan went to college and learned valuable skills. Physical skills, emotional skills, and social skills. Kobe on the other hand went straight into the NBA. He never learned how to handle people. Instead, he had to grow up in front of thousands. Something tells me that isn't the bestway to mature.

I agree to a certain extent.

Kobe has unreal skills.. every move, every shot, inside outside.....

I HOPE that having his foot in his mouth teaches him a lesson.

He was mad the lakers did not trade away their future and then his teammates help raise the lakers to near elite status.

MAYBE just maybe this is what it takes to grow Kobe.

It's true. Since the Lakers are doing very well (thanks to Gasol and Bynum), Kobe has to have changed his tune. Maybe he will realize that he doesn't always know best. I think that will make him an EVEN BETTER player than he already is.

yea I was happy for to catch that lesson.

seems that health will determine which of the 5 or 6 teams that have a cshot to win it all.

Personally I like Pete Maravich because he created everything but Jordan had the best career and Kobe has the greatest skill set. The guys on sportsbarfights.com did video break downs making the case for each player it was really good.

At present my favorite player is Kobe Bryant,he controls the game in best possible manner. He is the best interceptor, his passes, his stealing of passes, his shoots, his dribbling and makes him an excellent overall player. He has won the dunk competition once.

Michael Jordan is the best basketball player ever, he is better than any other player. we should call him King Jordan. Michael Jordan was a six-time NBA champion. Kobe Bryant is very good NBA player but, he will NEVER be better or near as good as Michel Jordan.

Postman

I can’t argue with. I also think that he is the best NBA player but I can’t call him the “King” because he never owns a country. I think that a king would only fit for those who own a country.

My pick will be Kobe Bryant and I think he wins hands down.
